The layout of Jason Bell’s website is very simplistic in that the structure of each page stays constant as you navigate through the site. Unlike the previous artist’s websites, the level of text on this particular website is much higher, both in the menu as well as the text on pages with lots of information, the ‘About’ page is an example of this. I would say the navigation of this website is the easiest to follow, with the menu layout and colour scheme being simple and easiest to follow. There are no gimmicks or fancy transitions when navigating between the different pages, meaning the general vibe of the website is sophisticated and classic.
The colour of the text isn’t jet black – a grey has been used to soften the overall feel of the pages. Especially when having a large amount of text on one page, it makes the page as a whole seem less daunting compared to having jet black against a white background (which would create a higher contrast). I have chosen to pursue this with my own website, as I also felt that it softened the overall feel of the pages.
Having the division line consistent between the menu on the left side of the pages and the images/text on the right side, makes the overall feel of the pages seem very organised, and the different elements of the website are easy to find due to this separation.
